Flourish’s mission
Flourish is a social well-being app that helps users cultivate meaningful interactions with friends and family in a caring, supportive, and safe space. Our app delivers customized, science-based, bite-sized happiness and wellness activities and allows users to share experiences with close friends and a global community for support, joy, and inspiration.
Why now?
We know that social media is broken, loneliness is a pervasive problem, and our society is in a mental health crisis. These problems have escalated over the past decade, and the pandemic has forced many people to confront this reality. Hollow and harmful superficial interactions and mindless scrolling on social media leave many people feeling more lonely, isolated, anxious, and profoundly unhappy. We deeply believe that meaningful connections with friends and family is a lasting pillar to our happiness, and that we can only address the loneliness crisis and improve social media by helping people build a strong social support network and practicing skills that nurture the wellbeing of themselves and each other.
Why us?
As scientists, it is our lives’ mission to bring more kindness and wellness to the world. Our startup idea results from 20 years of combined experience in psychology/behavioral science and interdisciplinary training in top schools and departments. Our project was hatched in the Ignite program at Stanford GSB, and our pitch on the Demo Day received enthusiastic feedback from the VC panel and classmates. We are first-time founders, and we are grateful for all the support we have received from Stanford Ignite, Stanford Venture Studio, and beyond.
Our team
Our advisory team includes a senior designer with rich industry/startup experiences, AI/ML research scientists at Google and DeepMind, and world-class experts in psychology. And we are working with experienced web app developers to create the Flourish of our dreams.
